About METACAD Foundation
As doctors with extensive experience caring for patients and families, we have long been fascinated by the concept of hope. What is it? How does it work? What impact does it have? And can we ever truly understand it?
The complexity of hope is evident in the experience of a woman whose husband underwent palliative chemotherapy. She shared how her hopes evolved throughout his illness. At first, she hoped the diagnosis was a mistake. Then, she hoped treatments would succeed against the odds. Now, she hopes to support her husband in his final days, ensuring they are peaceful and pain-free. One couple, one illness—yet so many forms of hope.
The METACAD Foundation was established to strengthen the connection between patients, caregivers, and clinicians through skilled communication rooted in honesty, empathy, and hope. By fostering meaningful conversations, we aim to provide comfort, understanding, and support during life’s most challenging moments.
